Volunteer Roles
Concert Support
Volunteers are essential to creating a warm and memorable experience for our audiences.
Lobby Table Crew (Zilkha Hall): Represent Ars Lyrica at our information table in the Hobby Center lobby. Distribute complimentary tickets, assist with will-call, sell CDs and merchandise, and share information about upcoming concerts and subscriptions.
Ushers (Zilkha Hall, St. Philip & Duncan Recital Hall): Welcome audiences, distribute programs, and assist guests with seating.
Hospitality Crew: Help set up and serve at post-concert receptions, where patrons mingle with artists!
Community & Outreach
Bring Baroque music beyond the concert hall.
Community Pop-Ups: Join our team at neighborhood concerts, festivals, and cultural celebrations by greeting attendees and sharing information about Ars Lyrica.
Special Events
Support Ars Lyrica’s fundraising and social gatherings.
Opera Soirée & Donor Appreciation: Assist with guest check-in, event activities, and hospitality at Ars Lyrica’s premier social events.
BAM! (Baroque and More!) Events: Support our young professionals group by helping with event set-up, check-in, and guest hospitality.
Content & Media Support
Assist Ars Lyrica’s marketing team by gathering content at concerts, rehearsals, and events.
Creative Media Volunteers: This may include taking photos, capturing short video clips, interviewing artists and patrons, or sharing highlights on social media. A perfect role for students or young professionals interested in arts marketing, digital media, or communications.
Behind the Scenes
Administrative Help: Assist staff with mailings, program book inserts, or data entry.
Marketing & Outreach Support: Help distribute flyers and brochures at community centers, libraries, and local businesses — a great way to learn arts marketing from the inside.
Grammy-nominated Ars Lyrica Houston is a professional performance ensemble dedicated to providing audiences with historically-informed performances of music from the 17th and 18th centuries. These works feature exciting and accomplished artists in performances of beloved masterworks and hidden gems.
